As of Friday, November 24th, the accessibility tool Ally has been disabled in all Canvas course shells and will no longer be available to use. The pilot has recently concluded and the Learning Technology Hub (LT Hub) has decided to pause support of Ally. The tool can no longer be requested to be enabled in any future courses, including 2023W2 courses. Learn more about LT Hub’s decision to pause central support for Ally.
At this time, LT Hub has not listed a new technology or tool that will succeed Ally. However, we have an eLearning Student Help & Resources shell that highlights Canvas’ built-in accessibility features and other alternatives students can use for improved accessibility.
